AMALIA — A Matching Algorithm for Lead Isotope Analyses Fast selection of potential candidates for metal provenance.

Submitting a sample to the AMALIA tool allows it to be compared with numerous analyses from various countries in our ever-growing Ore and Archaeological Lead Isotope dataset (ORACLE) recently. AMALIA will generate a detailed list of all analyses that are analytically comparable to your sample, with lead isotope ratios matching within interlaboratory spectrometric errors.

If you choose to upload a CSV file, AMALIA will also include analytically comparable entries from your own file in the output.

The file can be used to review new data from your current project, as well as previously published data that have not yet been incorporated into ORACLE.

Note that your data never leaves your machine — the AMALIA tool operates entirely in your browser.

How to format your CSV file for upload

The first line in your CSV will be used to label the columns. Name them as you please but note that this application assumes the following:

  1. The first column is a unique identifier. If you choose to download the results the file will use values from this column in the file name.
  2. The second column is for a brief description. Although not necessary, the application assumes that this column is only ever used this way. Leave it empty if you don’t need it, but make sure that the column exists.
  3. The rest of the columns are for the five lead isotopes as listed below. Order matters.

Notes

  1. Poorly formatted CSV files will not work.
    1. Never use commas in your data. Commas are only used to define columns.
    2. Column names are assumed to be in the first row.
    3. There must be 7 columns.
  2. Every column must be present. The application uses column order to read your data. There is no correlation between column names and functionality.
  3. The maximum file size for your CSV file is 100KB, which is roughly 500 rows. Larger files will not upload.
  4. The following comprises a valid CSV file that you can save to a file for use as a template:
